I've heard the DE carry course not acceptable as have to take the MD 16 hour course, received Email Delaware Tactical offering the MD W&C course. Does MD required copy of the DE permit ? What's the story on interviews if requested by MSP?

You don't need a DE permit to apply for a MD permit.

Most people's references are not being contacted but don't bet on that. Yes references are required. No they don't have to be residents of MD or DE.

Currently the MSP is not conducting interviews.

You need a MD W&C Class or be exempt from the training requirement.

You do have to come to MD for fingerprints. 1A fingerprinting is likely the closest. They do livescan on Thursdays at Tactical Shepherd, Rising Sun, MD.

Several of my friend and students are DE residents and are applying for a MD permit.

As of This Week , references usually not contacted , and interviews rare .

MSP is still feeling their way thru dealing with the onslaught . Once they're more fully staffed with AO ll 's ( non Trooper Background Investigators ) , what will be SOP ? We're waiting to see .

Could be streamlined on purpose , or could be intentionally punitive in Md's last gasp of defiance .

I’m in DE. Have a class schedule at Atlantic Tactical in a few weeks, along with the wife. We both have or DE CCW. Not cheap, but want to get it done. We are close to the MD line and crossover frequently. It will be nice not having to unarm in MD.

Just to talked to shop guy over here to Bridgeville.
He said he’s going somewhere this WE for 16 hr. course.
The indoor range in Gumboro maybe.
I think his family member owns the place.
He asked if I wanted to go and I said no.
Not yet, maybe in the future sometime.
I also asked him what he thought would be shooting at him over the line, he said well you know,
I’m kinda big like a Sasquatch and everybody wants to bag one.
I let him know I could see that, there’s a Sasquatch crossing sign near Old Mill crab house in Delmar.
To be careful over that way for sure. Some of those boys are nuts to San- Domingo way.

I talked to Range Time, the last time I was there (3 weeks?), and they said they do not do MD CCW class.

The simulator at Atlantic Tactical is very realistic. I don’t know how they do it but it requires a live trained operator. RS Mitchell says that they have 200k invested. The other trainer on Sunday said they have 1000 scenarios. These are filmed with live actors with numerous outcomes depending on how the trainee responds. Heart stopping for sure. I was expecting a video game or a cartoony simulator. Not this one.

I’m going to go back with the Mrs for more.

    Did the 16 hours. Wow
Worth it not to have to disarm going to Maryland. We live in south east Sussex so it’s a pain planning trips armed or unarmed.
