I used to know a kid whose uncle was/is one. He was ex coastguard and metro pd, however he would not admit he was NSA police.

Is that a bad thing or similar to the quote below?

anyone that does anything for NSA will not say so in an open forum

Ive had a pm from an employee already. Pm's are fine, hell ill even exchange phone numbers. Just trying to learn a little more about the job. I see them on Ft Meade but never really get a chance to talk to them.

Yep. There are two kinds of LEOS Fed-wise; security and law enforcement. NSA and USCP would be primarily security. Ask one how many people they have arrested.

Im perfectly fine with that...its next to impossible to get a decent job here in the lovely state of MD, especially armed security so Ill take what I can get. Im done with I.T. work, Fire Dept's arent hiring, Im not a good runner so some Police Dept's I cant pass the run time. I am still waiting on Baltimore City Police...I had to write a letter. Balt County Fire, still in process. Federal Air Marshall...stilllllll in process....Andrews AFB Police, ap submitted, Ft. Meade Police, not hiring....Wackenhut, still waiting....this crap sucks around here. My current job is just temp, I dont see them getting the contract renewed. Talk about bored out of your mind, Im an escort. If there are no contractors to escort, I sit at the employee enterance and watch. The hardest part is staying awake. NSA, Ill gladly take it!:D

I'd work on that as the academy will hammer you. 8 min miles should be a min as people do fail out quick if they dont have the cardio

As for NSA PD, look at it as a stepping stone to somewhere else maybe even into NSA proper as you appear to be a tech guy. I know a guy who made their SWAT in his second year and rolled in year three to go do real 5.0 stuff but was able to make the Team more quickly due to the background.

My running is more due to knee surgery than cardio. I've been able to push out 12's and supposedly B-City said I did 11.04(I still dont believe that, but Ill take it) Once I get in, Ill have no problem running, it will be tuff, but nothing I cant push through. Thats why Im trying to apply with places that I can pass their initial run time. That and I dont have my associates degree. If I had that my app for MoCo PD would have been in awhile ago, and I think I woulda had the best luck there

Im not sure what you mean by NSA proper. If you mean tech like I.T. stuff, nah, I dont like computers lol. I only did it because it was good money at the time and figured I would give it a try. None of the I.T. positions have worked out for me and its not what I want to do for the rest of my life. My expierence in the Fire Dept, working with and ride alongs with LE, now thats how I want to spend my working days. Thats a career I can see myself in for the long run.

I wouldnt worry about the physical part. DO your best to get in shape as FLEC-C will be easier, but my buddies have saw litterly Obeese people pass through there. Its not hard.

What is is the background/poly. Better hope your credit is perfect, perfect history and pysch. One of my buddies who works there was asked the craziest questions, failed the poly multiple times by telling the truth. He is a strait shooter never been in trouble vet and they stilled made him take the poly 2+. Asked him if he likes to fornicate with barn animals,ect..

I would say it depends on what agency we are talking about, and what your goals are. I don't know what agency your friend works for, but we didn't have any obese people coming through at FLETC. Not a single one, nor have I seen any recent graduates that were obese slobs. There were some agencies I won't name that did have a bunch of porkers, but we sure didn't. The difference with my agency is that we have several weeks of add on training after FLETC where the PT standards are considerably higher. No one cared about meeting the FLETC PT standard, because we all knew that once we got back, the bar was set much higher. It would make no sense for us to hire the Michelin man, have him graduate FLETC, only to fail after graduation. ;)

the standard procedure for all federal positions escpecially NSA is 2 polygraphs the first is a long one where they will be quite nice and the second one will be shorter and they will not be nice and accuse you of fornicating with animals and being a thief/murderer to see your reaction. It's just SOP don't sweat it.

Thanks for the heads up, hopefully i get to that point. Ill need to prepare myself if i make it to that point. I guess ill just have to remember its part of the act and to stay calm, and remember if i were such a bad sick person, i wouldnt have even made it that far.

I assume flipping out is wrong. But wouldnt not being suprised be wrong too?

Not that anyone can tell you how to pass a polygraph, and I'm nobody, plus I'm not an expert, but people giving you advice how to "pass" police hiring tests... wouldn't that defunct the whole reason they're even giving these test to eligible applicants in the first place?

    Think about it.
