I carry a retired DOD LESOSA card. I need to find a range that will allow me to shoot.
Thanks for any help.
Thanks for any help.
This is correct. You may be SOL. It is my understanding that all non-MD certs went through the State training facility in Sykesville. https://mdle.net/firearms.htm
At least that's what I did when i lived in MD for my DOD LEOSA card.
Good luck!
This is correct.
This is the problem I am finding.Md does not qual non Md certs, just MD agency, Federal and I assume they consider DOD "Federal". I have not had any DOD come through in my classes the last 3 years, you should call them and ask.
The larger agencies who do quals have mostly gone to qualing their own employees. Charles County SO, and St.Marys SO to name 2.
You might want to give PG County Community College a call. They might.
410-552-6300 You should call the Firearms section and ask them about DOD quals. They just came out with their 2024 qual schedule and it usually fills pretty fast. This is the problem I am finding.

They do 4 class days a month, a Tues & Thurs. 2 quals on each day, a morning class and afternoon, 10 shooters each class. So basically 80 shooters a month. I think we are there about 3 hours. Good time.
Good you found one closer to where your at.After e-mailing all the Local Departments I found one that runs a yearly qualification.
Worcester County Sheriff Department runs a yearly qualification for anyone with LEOSA credentials. Must have been thirty Troopers over 65 there shooting J frames and Model 10's.
