So, scary US H.B 1296 Assault Weapons Ban in House with 211 cosponsors is moving and Great State of MD MC legislators saying they will introduce similar legislation here in MD in Jan 2020 session. Understand its legal to buy larger capacity AR Magazines outside MD and bring in state, is there a limit on mag capacity or size? Going to start buying a few for all of various firearms while available. Saw a interesting 60 round AR mag at an outdoor range & shop in VA recently - would that be legal to bring in to MD? Thanks and sorry if dumb question.

Buy whatever you want and bring it back. Perfectly legal. Cabela's in Newark carries Magpul at fair prices, by the way.

How incredibly unamerican and insulting it is that we have to worry about this and go to this length.

I need to work harder and shorten my time to retirement and getting the hell out of here.

If I were you I would buy a LOT more than just a few. Nation's gun show is this weekend at the Dulles Expo center. Bring a duffel bag or 3 and fill them up!

That happened because we don't have our own “antifa” raising hell in the streets when crap like this happens.

We're different from the Antifa crowd...we're not Nazis like they are and have respect for the Constitution plus we're usually busy working to support our families and secure our futures. We believe in peaceful protest which unfortunately gets little attention the media. If we acted like Antifa and became destructive that would get a lot of press...all negative and be used by the Dems as justification why we can't be trusted with our Second Amendment rights.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't let our positions be known to the public and to the lawmakers...acting like Antifa would be counterproductive.

You don’t really think that if we put on black masks, got threatening and violent, burned things and tried to shut down other people’s activities, that that would suddenly make the majority in our state who think we should have no guns at all ... change their minds and agree that we should have easier access to higher capacity mags?

Has an antifa style mob action ever made you change your mind about anything, ever? That’s why - thank goodness - our team doesn’t pull that kind of crap.

If you were right then there wouldn’t be the steady erosion of the 2nd. Only a matter of time before its over and then in our 80s “we” will be writing “I remember when” posts online wishing we had done more.

If you're advocating being a conservative Antifa I can't see that happening. I can't see that being anything but counterproductive. Mob rule is a left-wing thing...working the grass roots to elect pro-freedom legislators isn't "sexy" but is a better path.

While I may be wrong you're coming across as an agent provocateur working for the Left trying to justify erasing the Second Amendment. Being loud and presenting one's case is one thing and is Constitutionally protected...being violent and destructive is a Left-wing tactic to shut down dissent and those they disagree with. We welcome dissent...and to defeat their dissent in the arena of ideas.

To literal an interpretation of my post, good thing we have the internet to let them know that we will not comply, over my dead body and don’t tread on me. All that shyte goes out the window when a SWAT team knocks on your door to get your guns because your next door neighbor hears you yell at your kids. What a shame that all my firearms were lost in a boating accident somewhere up north.

Again, to literal of an interpretation of my post. The key message is that “they” are organized for action and “we” silently sit around and complain online and dutifully vote in a state where that vote doesn’t matter.

No, "we" (at least some of us) put a lot of money where are mouths are and support:

    1) Political races where the outcome depends on support and can make a difference - that includes house/senate races in other states.

    2) LITIGATION, helping financially to support the only thing that will really make a difference. It's why DC is now shall issue, and why MD will be once the dust settles. I'm not sitting around, I'm working 12 hours a day. And some of what I produce is peeled off to help in the ways that actually can make a difference.

"We" do get organized..."we" don't necessarily sit around doing nothing. We simply are not using destructive tactics that get media attention but "we" do protest at the State House and Congress..."we" do write and petition the lawmakers..."we" do vote..."we" do write newspapers with our opinions..."we" do make our positions known. If it wasn't for us sitting "silently" and groups like the NRA, GOA, Second Amendment Foundation and others on state and local levels making the waves they do and advocating for "we" there wouldn't be the victories we have had (and yes...there has been defeats). It's a never ending battle and internal squabbles aren't helpful.

You're correct in saying "we" may not be as organized as the Left...they march in lockstep in their march towards a Socialist "Utopia"...we have to fight them on many fronts and it takes organization and keeping the energy level up.

Keep on fighting the good fight but breaking windows may get media attention but works against us in the long run.

That’s great! I am glad it’s making a difference. Where do I donate?

For now, you can buy whatever you want out of state. I would recommend paying cash .

One thing I have been buying, are the Hexmag 10/30 magazines. I had some Magpuls, Lancers and GI mags, but they ran out of bullets so I threw them out. The Hexmag 10/30 mags are nice but I would recommend stocking up on some stronger 30rd full length mag springs for reliability.

Start by joining MSI. A very modest amount there - even just your simple membership fee - helps to support the talented and dedicated people there who are trying to hold the left's unconstitutional feet to the fire in this state.

At the national level, groups like the SAF are important. Regardless of what you may think about the NRAs internal political strife, understand that the NRA-ILA and NRA-PVF are essentially separate entities from the main membership wing, and work on litigation and election/legislation matters in important ways. It's literally never been more important that this stuff gets both local and national attention. But if you get no further than throwing a pizza's worth of money at MSI, you're contributing in an important way.

I've been reading your crap since you joined in July, though I suspect you're a former banned member.

You contribute little, to nothing, to any thread, except to mainly stir the pot.

I see you have no introduction thread, perhaps if there were more info about you, I might not suspect you're a Frosh stooge/troll, or maybe just an anti-2A mouth breather who joined to stir shit.

    Bless your heart.
