I pulled apart a bolt on one of my ARs. I noticed the extractor spring on this bolt did not have the rubber O-ring. Is this necessary? If it is, what is the name for it? I have to make a Brownells order and I can't find it on their website.

Per our highly regarded Gunsmith Clandestine:

-Aftermarket Extractor Springs & O Rings
NOTE: O Rings should ONLY be used you are having extraction problems or if a GOLD Colt Extractor Spring does not work.
NOTE: The current standard is the Colt "Gold" Extractor Spring with Black Insert. O Rings are NOT used with Colt Gold Extractor Springs.

Works for me. Should I remove them if they came stock from the manufacturer? I have two Spikes BCGs. Both have the O rings.
