Yeah the upper comes as just a stripped receiver. I ordered and assembled every other part individually. Stripped receivers don't even come with the forward assist and dust door. I like to mix and match my parts for each build. This also gives me a chance to lap the upper receiver so where the bolt rests is totally concentric to the barrel extension.Theoretically this enhances accuracy. The SPR upper while I was breaking it in put 5 shots into a single non ragged hole at 25 yrds. That was cleaning between every shot at 20 mintue intervals. Not that 25 yrds. means anything but it's a good start. The Armalite upper I got in a trade.

I just got the YHM Forearm for my build... Your builds Look Awesome!!! I think for "looks" you and I have almost exactly the same taste!?!?! I almost got the same colors on the same parts on your 'carbine' armalite build and one other build that I saw from another thread... I guess we both have great taste !!!!!

Thanks. I've just about got them how I like them. The SPR is getting a FDE magpul ladder rail on the top and I may switch flash hiders. I also in the process of building a new lower for the SPR as that one is staying with the carbine. It will either be another LRB or a Mega billet lower. I can't decide between an A1 stock or the PRS for the SPR. BTW that ladder cover setup on the carbine is SICK. The combo of XTMS on the bottom to fit your palm and the textures panels on the side for grip is perfect. I found some hand stop rail panels on the Brownells site and am gonna install them at the end of the bottom XTM's to give me an index for quick hand placement for snap shooting. Alss I think the carbine is getting a Vortex Strikefire red dot when funds allow and will probably do most of it's duty as a 22 lr when I get the CMMG 22lr bolt.

I used testors model paint Jim. If you would like to do red, white, or yellow you can use mine. It's really easy.
