Its in the metal of the bullet round itself, that's why its difficult to reload for.

There is no way the barrel would get past a metal detector.

ETA- The ammo will set it off as well.

Technically the AS-007 doesn't need the barrel to be considered a firearm, but I am positive the barrel would set off a detector. So yes, you could get "the gun" past a metal detector, but you couldn't use it.

ETA- The ammo will set it off as well.

I heard of a prototype that uses a carbon fiber barrel but there is still enough metal in the chamber to set off a metal detector.

There are rumors of a person running a ceramic polymer as a projectile, but nothing has come up anywhere, so it is just rumors. Nothing more.

You can't go to just any gun shop and buy one. Also if somebody owns one, they won't show it off to people or take it to a public range. Nice try....

They will if they’re close family and on family land. But unfortunately I didn’t realize the laser attachment wasn’t a sight and now I owe him a new barn

Been looking to pick up some more. I'm in the theoretical engineering design of producing reloads for these things, but need some factory loads to reverse engineer some things.

Then I gotta wait until the AS007 become available to actually get some commercial baselines.

I'm thinking any reloads are going to involve unobtanium, so the entire effort is probably for naught.
