In Maryland you also have to get CLEO to sign off on SBRs. Correct? Not as cut and dry as other states. It was mentioned in "Guns and Gadgets" video that dropped in the last hour or so.

Except he is wrong. While more than half the states are suing the ATF over the brace rule, there are two different lawsuits in different jurisdictions.

The FIREARMS REGULATORY ACCOUNTABILITY COALITION, INC along with NST GLOBAL, LLC d/b/a SB TACTICAL, B&T USA, LLC,
RICHARD CICERO and 25 States (STATES OF WEST VIRGINIA, NORTH DAKOTA, ALABAMA, ALASKA, ARKANSAS, FLORIDA, GEORGIA, IDAHO, INDIANA, IOWA, KANSAS, KENTUCKY, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, MISSOURI, MONTANA, NEBRASKA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, OKLAHOMA, SOUTH CAROLINA, SOUTH DAKOTA, TENNESSEE, UTAH, VIRGINIA, and WYOMING) are suing in North Dakota
    Sixth lawsuit

filed in North Dakota (8th circuit)

The other lawsuit is in Texas. The STATE OF TEXAS, GUN OWNERS OF AMERICA, INC, GUN OWNERS FOUNDATION, and BRADY BROWN are the plaintiffs in that case

    Seventh lawsuit

    Southern District Texas (5th circuit)

Cliff notes for those that don't have 20 minutes to burn watching a video?

These two guys are very optimistic that because the ATF has bitten off more than they can chew, the result will likely be that we end up with SBRs being removed from the 1934 NFA. This brace rule has a huge amount of opposition and is being fought by some pretty serious folks. The left thought this would just be another bump stock situation. Most people would complain a little, comply, then the left would roll out their brag propaganda about how much they are successful with their gun control agenda. Because the biden regime is so hellbent on gun bans at all costs, their actions have created court cases that will ultimately create the unintended consequences of less gun control overall. When this is all said and done, potato in chief's legacy will likely be causing the removal of the most amount of gun control in US history.

After all, the reason for SBR and SBS were added to the NFA was removed in the first place. There was never a need to write them into the 1934 NFA.
