works fine in levers, not in autos.
would like to trade for other 22lr that would work in an auto
barter, not sale. can't yet post in classifieds or i would

for best accuracy, this ammo takes a non-standard rifling twist. 35 feet or so from a henry before keyholing. around a 60 grain bullet

    How much do you have?

I am getting a precision bolt gun and want to get a selection of ammo to try.

To shoot the Aguila SSS ammo well you need a barrel with a 1:9 twist or close. Which just happens to be the twist of an AR. So as long as they can cycle the best thing to shoot them in is an AR with a CMMG conversion kit. They will keyhole at some distance with any 1:16 twist normal .22 barrel. There are special barrels made just for this cartridge, but mostly in 10/22. You might be able to have one made for a bolt gun but then it would be good for nothing else. It is the weight and length of the bullet that determines the required optimized twist rate.

I think I have 2-3 boxes of SSS somewhere. Of course with my AR and CMMG conversion it is the best setup but I have not shot any to see if the action cycles OK. I live in Hagerstown but shoot in Frederick.

Thanks for pointing this out guys. I was looking to buy some of this ammo but had no idea that it needed a special twist rate to function properly. I love this forum!

to get any range out of it, you will need the twist. 35 feet or so on cans and vermin works.hits hard with those big bullets.
