Backroad routes recommendation?

Hey guys,

I started riding last year and have been trying to find more and more backroad routes. I usually ride around the capital region/northern virginia but am looking to make it over the bay bridge sometime and just find backroads to ride one. Can anyone recommend me some routes? Any destinations especially mom and pop food you could recommend would be great. From looking at it on google maps, it doesn't seem like I have much choice for a backroad until I cross the bridge from Annapolis. Thanks in advance!

Nice time of year to get south of Cambridge. Rt 16 to Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and maybe wander over to Hooper's Island and eat a meal at Old Salty's.

Maybe come across the bride and head north up 301 toward Kennedyville. You could go to Molly's and get a good meal and check out the sporting goods store.
I was by there last week and they had 9mm, 40, 45 and the elusive 22lr ammo in stock. They are near 213 and 298, a little south of the Sassafras River.

Thanks for the input guys! Drew them up in google maps. How do the routes look? Not sure about venturing as far south as esva as I'm not up to advrider status yet and want to keep it all into 1 day.

shoot over to federals burg and pick up 313 and head up to kennedyvill/chestertown

Good move. I forgot about some of the cow paths and narrow bridges from Blackwater to Vienna. That's a good adventure.

the word adventure works well at 4am going fishin or hunting in that area

watch out for wildlife in the road at all times

Another area you may want to think about is Lancaster County PA, some cool covered bridge routes out that way.

you could also head north of blatimore from where you are, hit some backroads in the harford area, then drop down 313/213 onto the shore

Soft crab sandwich - its pan fried or sauteed. If you're squeamish you might have to try it the first time with your eyes closed

They are delicious though

There are lots if beautiful back roads on the shore.

Cambridge Diner has some killer good food on the southside of Cambridge. Soup made fresh every day.

That's pretty much pizza and subs so apples and oranges IMO. The airport restaurant used to be very good but now living off it's name.
