Baltimore County Master Plan 2030

This is something we should all be interested in. Every county in Maryland does a plan development for there area every 10 years. This seems to not get much exposure. Here is a link to Baltimore County 2030 plan. I see you read it. We should all start paying more attention to what they are planning for us. I found this by accident. Once I read the 2010 plan and 2020 plan I was shocked. This effects everyone not just for our shooting community. But our homes and the towns around them. We should all pay more attention to what or local Goverments are doing.

I started paying attention to these back in the EARRRRRRLY 80’s, the first time a family member put all their savings into a townhome in what every indicator foretold was going to be a very nice, quiet neighborhood with excellent schools, etc.

Developer finished the planned subdivision and all the parks and playgrounds etc, which had been illustrated in the water color renditions spread across the walls of the on-site sales office / model home and all was good, for about 5 years.

THEN - and I do mean to everyone’s surprise - the subsidized housing started in ALL the pretty green shaded areas all around the edges of those water color development paintings. (All of which had long since disappeared and we’re never to be found again :-/

Five years after that the single mom HAD TO get her and her pre-adolescent the hell outta dodge, before the now plummeting property values fell below what she still owed on the townhouse.

THAT was when I learned to ignore everything but any county’s or municipality’s Master Plan!

And, it is a whole helluva lot easier to get access to those plans now then it was in some counties back when - EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO PAY ATTN TO!!!!!!

"We think" will mean bringing more Baltimore City to Baltimore County. Especially with the Red Line.

Tax benefits?

Rampant development benefits only developers and the politicians they buy to approve said “development.” Tax base (including fuel taxes stolen from road use and put into “general fund” for vote buying) never fully pays for government “services” much less the true cost of “government” (employees, retirement funding for them, medical, all the rest); it’s digging a hole to fill half a hole - the other half goes in the pockets of “government.”

”Government subsidized” (i.e. - TAXPAYER, WAGE-earner funded) housing further diminishes funds available forcing more taxes upon an enslaved population (#taxationisslavery)

”Government” starts with HOA Karens and ends with globalist Klaus Schwab (or worse).
