I have a feeling that the committee doesn't care if its false or not, it pushes the agenda and that's what they care about.

Isn't lying to a Senate committee the same as perjury in a federal court?

This, except there's no difference if a federal court, a state court or a signed affirmation. I hope someone files not only perjury charges, but also removes him from office because now anything he does and says is untrustworthy.

He was also spewing B.S. when they were talking about arming teachers and what it would require. He stated that the military requires months of training similar to what the police have in order to issue weapons. I have been through this training and so has my brother and it could have been done in 2 8-hr days.

Anyone who think it's a good idea for their officers to use their own, personally bought, AR-15's for work purposes however doesnt think people should own them needs to readdress their views on guns.

I largely doubt he's as against guns as his stance has been on television. There's a lot of money involved in his situation.

I saw this clown when we went to testify in Annapolis last month, for the first judicial hearing on 281. This guy really is a mess. I'd love to see his a$$ get burned for lying.

I am no fan fan of Chief Johnson but he was there representing a national organization when asked to testify so he could have been refering to nationwide stats. At least that would be his excuse.

I suppose that could be true, but why not use a rep from the FBI for nationwide stats? They got a guy from Baltimore to prop up their agenda because everyone in the world associates Baltimore with gun murders.
Presumably he was speaking about his experience here in Baltimore.
Maybe he has political aspirations of his own.

Just suppose what his reaction would be, in his professional capacity, if he found out that you were lying to him? Why should ours be any different? ALL of these political scumbags actually do work for us. It is up to us, to make very clear to them, one and all, that there will be consequences for lying to us. It seems that they think they can BS us all the time on any subject, and we are supposed to neither notice, or care.... This is not limited to the state government either....

He wasn't under oath so I am not sure it counts. They are all lawyer types anyway and would help him get off if it came to that.

I watched the whole painful 4 hours or so of the cspan coverage and before sitting down all of the "experts" or the 4 people at the table testifying raised their hands and took the oath.

Ok settle down! The results town hall requested were sent to them and in a 6 month period 500 or 600 I can't remember guns were recovered. So a man with common sense could say everyday and another man listening with common sense could conclude that weapon recovery in Baltimore has a high frequency!

I don't agree with his stance but you guys call for resignation, firing, prosecution, and beheading at the slightest of misinterpretation.

And to be Completly fair, dozens of officers have lost their lives to these weapons. Obviously his message conveys a small time frame which we know isn't 100% the truth but since the the ak47 was invented at least a dozen officers have been killed by one.

Lets read and comment appropriately so we don't sound off our rockers for nothing.

I am sure he does as the personnel section sent out a internal job announcement looking for a "Legislative Liasion". Never had one before.
We were slated to receive a new handgun starting in July but I have heard he is delaying that for PC reasons. It was already approaved by the budget folks but. Not confirmed info but just what I hear.

I go back to last year's "gun day" in the HJC...

When pressed on the idea of "What constitutes 'good and substantial'?" the MSP reps there stammered a lot, and came up with "We know it when we see it."

Oh, then a G&S reason is porn. Great, I've got a lot of that.

I thought so, i just forgot the Drone part!

Inigoes, actually NO im not the one asking for trouble. The broad "these guys" statement made by whoever was asking for trouble. Still waiting for his clarification, as i sure hope hes not generalizing about an entire department. If he is, he can suck my sweaty sack right after his mother finishes.
