    UPDATE

Needless to say, that was my first and last purchase from Bass Pro.

That would have been my final comment if I were you.

Sounds like the reaction of a low level employee, taking things way to personally. I wouldn't be back to that particular store at all.

It pretty much was, as I know he reads this thread. :D

    The general manager acted professionally.
The meeting just wasn't what I would have expected in terms of the priorities being that of the store and it's customers.
It appeared more "personal" due to this thread, which is unfortunate.

Seriously though, he acted professionally otherwise.

Well, it at least goes to show the reach of the forum. Nothing is sacred, not even the WC.

He's a sissy for interpreting those as threats in his attempt to deflect the issue of poor customer service.

    UPDATE
As for my comments aimed at him directly ...
"Not a smart move on his part"

"This will not be a good day for him"

These are things that every pissed off customer says to retail managers. They are idle threats that mean absolutely nothing 99.9999999% of the time.

Although if someone said them to me, I would be WAY less likely to help them.

Should have gotten a refund and moved on with life...both you and Bass Pro.

Again support your local ffl. If he doesn't carry it, go down to cabelas, basspro wherever has it put your hands on it and go back and have your FFL order it. Customer service is a lot better when a small guys paycheck depends on your purchase as opposed to a big box employee who doesn't care.

Waiting for a pick-up now is a flash in the pan. The blink of an eye. A cake walk. Followed by a gravy train.

Every time I think back on that 155 day waiting period, I just take a deep breath and chiiiiiiiiiilll.

    1) My username is my legal name
    2) My email to him included my email address which includes my legal name
    3) I'm pretty sure I signed my email to him with my legal name
    4) Location "Beltsville" matches address on the firearms paperwork
    5) Course of events stated in my posts match what I wrote in my email to him

I'm sure it wasn't too difficult to put two and two together.

I think the preliminary question is, why would he even seek you out on the internet and what guided him to MDS?

We have several MDS members that are active employees. They have made it known they are current employees.

Support your local gun shop, not the big box stores!

My local guy tells me to deal with Walmart on the generic stuff. 870s, Mossberg pumps, most kids 22s, etc. He says Walmart can sell that to me for less than he can get it for. Most of what I buy doesn't fall into that category, so he still does alright.

    I can. September 30, 2013.

Didn't they extend that if the firearm was bought and paid for prior to 10/1?

As for the BPS manager, he's probably a lifer there and doesn't have much else to live for. These petty power struggles and his internet persona may be the highlights of his week. It was nice of the OP to throw him a bone and let him think he "won".

Most MDSers wouldn't buy anything other than big-box crap from the big-box store, so the loss of sales is negligible. Thanks OP for reminding us why we don't buy real guns there.

Support small shops. They battle for our 2A rights. Walmarts, BassPro, Dicks are all part of the big corporate agenda for "sensible gun control". Their money goes to DEMOCRATS. These corporate leaders only want our money. They will sell our Republic for 2 bucks and sleep soundly.

Support the independent shops. I only buy from mom and pop stores.

    .

So what he's saying is he should be stocking his wall with the cheap stuff from Walmart as well. :D

I've never been a fan of any company that makes you take a ticket like a grocery store deli counter to buy a firearm. That, in and of itself, is enough to keep me away. I'll got there for clothes, ammo, powder, etc, but not for arms.
