Just bought a Springfield VHS 2 (Hellion). $1.73 K OTD.

I like it better than Tavor SAR and AUG. Front/rear sites are really nice. Trigger is WAY better than the 10 + lbs on Tavor. Stock is adjustable , not that I will ever need to. Ambi-foldable charging handle is nicely done. Also, ejection port is designed in a way that right hand shooter can shoot on left side w/out eating brass, but User can mod this too.

Garand Thumb did a review his only real knock was the LOP, the lack of flaring in the magwell, and the bolt release at the rear of the gun was not ergo enough, he thought the safety was little out of reach for people with smaller thumbs. I am saving up for one. It excites me more than the Tavor did. I passed on the Tavor and really have no desire for one. This one I want for some reason.

I don't like the fact that there is no way to lock the bolt open without using the last round hold open feature with a magazine inserted. The bolt release only works one way (to drop the bolt). I have never had a reason to clear a malfunction as mine has run perfectly so far. I am also not trying to shoot in sand storms or crawl through mud with it either.

The trigger isn't bad for a bullpup, that being said, it's horrible compared to any conventional rifle. LOL The trigger feels a lot like the one on my Sig 556. Huge amount of take-up, slight wall, then a little mushy creep, followed by a nice 4-5lbs brake.

One of the features that I have not seen on many reviews is the small metal bracket that is just behind the charging lever is a forward assist. You push down on the bracket and it pins the charging handle to the bolt carrier so you can push it forward if needed. I haven't had to use it yet, but it is nice to know it's there.

The safety selector seems awkward if you are accustomed to using ARs but this is not an American rifle and it has been limited to semi-only selections. I would not doubt if the after-market industry corrects this soon enough.

The one outstanding thing is I counted no less than ten sling attach points. Five on each side of the rifle. With so many, I may have missed a few. It's crazy!

With its modularity I can see someone making some "improved" parts to get it to be more user friendly, like flared magwell.

this article says the bolt release is the bolt catch as well

On the VHS bolt hold open, there’s a device inside mag well, which will be pushed up by follower on an empty mag-Kinda like a Bolt Stop.

If you wanna lock the bolt back with NO mag, simply pull charging handle back and maintain the pressure, then push Bolt Stop inside mag well upward , with your finger , until you felt the Bolt itself resting on Bolt Stop.

Not a rifle, and I want to get a holosun 510c to replace that aimpoint pro (which usually sits on my AR), but here’s my Scorpion Evo S1 pistol. I’ve replaced several parts and finally shot it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Love it!

I’m looking at the PSA AKV9 for my next purchase. Apparently, it’ll take my Scorpion mags too

    .
Being fairly well invested in firearms that use standard AK magazines already, I had a weak moment and bought a Palmetto State Armory KS-47. 10.5 inch barrel, 7.62X39, 20 round magazine in picture.

Upgraded the Windham a little bit. My daughter's complaints were the plastic 6 position stock had a sharp, rather uncomfortable edge, so swapped on a Magpul stock. The round handguards got a bit slick when shooting in the summer, so I swapped the handguard and added a vert grip. Hopefully she will enjoy shooting this more now, since it will be hers one day soon.

I was able to lighten up my Ruger PCC quite a bit. I’m pretty happy with it so far.

When you have a CNC mill in the garage and more lowers laying around than sense. Still a work in progress, but I was going for stupidity, not reliability... As soon as i get my form 1 approved, the barrel and bolt will get bought. Hopefully pre-engraving the trust on it isn't bad luck. Just figured I would add something else besides the good reliable standards that everyone else has.
