I would much rather have Rep. Issa keep this under wraps until after the presidential election. That way if Obama loses, and they convict Holder, he can't/won't get a presidential pardon.
We all know he will otherwise, thats why he is stonewalling. He knows he has a get out of jail free card.

OP - I am curious: did you have an opinion on this issue/article?

There are already many opinions on the issue in the Project Fast & Furious thread.

This is a very serious matter, politics should not factor in. But thats unrealistic I suppose.

Politics is the root of the issue from the very beginning. It's likely the spawn of the Obama administration's desire to crank up gun control by smear tactics. Once it got out of hand and a LEO was killed, politics again demanded that the story be downplayed and DoJ refrain from apology or making any overt admission of responsibility.

All politics is local, and this locality is the Seat of Government, where the game is hardball and there are no rules. It will be played on the Court of Public Opinion, with as much spin as is possible under the laws of physics. The players are all world-class, so it ought to be interesting.

But this is not the only ball in play, and the stakes are high. If the Press and the public can be motivated, this can play out at a higher level; otherwise it will be swamped in waves of election-year BS.

If it is true that the R leadership has stonewalled, or allowed the Ds to stonewall this investigation, they should be thrown out on the same bus as Eric the Red. It's high time that the old-time Ds and the Rs be replaced with people who cherish liberty and love this country.
