Does anyone have 9x18mm Makarov brass? Seems like they're very hard to find, and even most of the factory ammo is steel. Don't feel like spending a hundo to buy brass from GB.

I have some excess 38 special brass, but can work out primers/powder/$$$.

Back in the '70's, we had no 9x18 and those of us who had take home guns couldn't shoot them. Until we figured that cut down 9mm luger brass would work. The .355 bullets didn't give the best accuracy but they would shoot. If you have a case trimmer, you can make brass from 9x19 brass. After firing the first time, neck size from then on as the brass will expand to fill the chamber and full length resizing will make them crack faster.

How do you neck size a case with no neck?

You back off the die the same way you do with a bottleneck case. The goal is to size down the mouth of the case enough to hold the bullet but not size the whole case. However, if you like making cases, you can full length cases as much as you want. Their useful life will be shorter though.
