As much as I like the store itself, the last time at W.E. Sells, the counter guy talked to me like I was annoying him. They didnt have what I needed and he was giving me direction to another place that did. I asked him to repeat part of the directions and he said in a nasty way, "I Said It Was East Of Here !!! I hope I never need what they are selling bad enough to ever go back.

I really like the owner of Saltzgiver. He has always treated me with respect and is very pleasant to talk to.

I never had anyone treat me like you mentioned at Sell's but I have read about similar type treatments at various other Hunting and Fishing type stores in the Baltimore county area. Hopefully it was just an isolated incident of the salesperson having a lapse in judgement and not being the best representative of Sell's during your visit.

I have been in customer service all my working life. Other than when I was a service writer, I never had to deal with unhappy customers. I treated all mine fairly, as well as all the customers of my General contractor friends who had me work right alongside them for decades.

Mr Saltzgiver seemed like good people the one time I shopped at his store with a buddy. I am fairly certain his daughter goes to my church, as that is also he maiden name. She is good people too.

That guy has always had a chip on his shoulder ,so I wasnt surprised he acted that way. But once someone disrespects me that way....Im done.

Should have mentioned....Brad at Brownstone Trading Post and his wife are good ,solid people .A pleasure to deal with

I travel in the southern PA area multiple times every week. Many of the places on that map no longer carry reloading supplies. The best thing you can do is call them is you're trusting and go in person if you're not. I called Freedom Armory a few weeks ago to see if they had primers because they use to sell them. They no longer stock reloading components.

The Powder Horn in McSherrytown is a place to check out if you are in the area.

Yup, this was my intent. The OP and anyone looking to get supplies should call first.

I buy quite a bit of my components online anymore. I know that it costs more to buy powder and primers that way because you have to pay the hazmat fee but the frustration of trying to find them locally just isn't worth it to me anymore. The last time I found any local company that had primers in stock was at Bass pro at Arundel Mills and that's been months ago probably back in the winter. The Cabela's in Christiana had a decent supply and selection of powders last time I was there but no primers and plenty of fish weight bullets AKA full metal jackets and plated but not a very good selection of hunting and self-defense bullets.

The bottom line is I'm just tired of making phone calls and stopping in at every brick and mortar gun shop in the area to see whether they have something that I'm currently looking for. I know I pay more for primers and powder but in the long run it's been worth it.

Yup I totally understand this, Mule.

I also like to do my best to support the small business guys like Brad Vosberg @ Brownstone.

One other side benefit of in person shopping is the possibility to find other things one might need that the online folks don't have. Historic pieces, deals, and even a personal friendship. Brad and his son and grandsons are regular folks like us. Heck, they even allowed me to hang and butcher my deer at their place in the past.

I still remember when I was in my 20's and looking for my first guns, and a place to shoot, I'd shop at Duffy's when it was just Will and Gary. It was many years of going and many years of saying to myself, "I know that Gary from somewhere." Years later while driving to and from work that the light bulb went on. Gary was my guitar teacher at a music store in Cockeysville, circa 1977 when I was 13. Finding him again at Duffy's some 12 years later was a good time even though it took me 10 more to put 2 and 2 together.
