They had better luck in nearby Upland, where they seized three guns from the home of Lynette Phillips, 48, who’d been hospitalized for mental illness, and her husband, David. One gun was registered to her, two to him.

“The prohibited person can’t have access to a firearm,” regardless of who the registered owner is, said Michelle Gregory, a spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office.

A case in PA had ruled a legal owner cannot be deprived of their 2A rights if a housemate is a convicted felon. The same should probably be true for a mentally ill housemate(or spouse-think of G Gordon Liddy's wife having guns in her name only). Looks like CA is asking for trouble IMO.

So much for the "our boys would never participate in gun confiscations" crowd.

Of course they would - they simply need to believe, in their hearts, they're doing "the right thing". The reasons for the confiscations will gradually expand, incrementally, until confiscating firearms from people even just on principal is "the right thing".

    This raised my eyebrows:

"Marsh said that while the woman appeared to be home, they got no answer at the door. Without a warrant, the agents couldn’t enter and had to leave empty- handed. "

In other words, the seizures in this article are being conducted without warrants. The officers try to talk their way into the house?

Don't worry, they won't be doing this for long. They can keep their job or their lives, but not both.:sad20:
