Calling references for renewals ?

They did not call my renewal. They certainly did on my initial years ago.

I was a reference for a friend who applied the day the Bruen decision was released. I did get a call. I’ve been a reference for several other people. Crickets. It ended pretty quickly.

I've been one of the references for numerous dead democrat voters that have submitted their W&C permits. Haven't been called on any of them and their new permits keep showing up.

My renewal references weren't even called pre-Bruen.

Nobody I know or have been a reference for has been called but I wouldn't be surprised if they started if the number of apps are down.

AFAIK, nothing changes until 10/1/2023

Maybe with the job market and the need for all the Temp screeners, many don't speak English well enough to do the interview portion.

*****I help teach the W&C class at the range I volunteer at and have had conservatively 500 people come through my classes. We discuss the references a bit in our classes as well as what to expect and afaik none of my students references have been called and I have been one of the references to many people I know at the range since the Bruen decision.

The interviews were conducted by troopers, not civilians.

Spoke with either him or a similar person. It wasn't routine.

I know at least a dozen people who have received or renewed their permits since Bruen. Not one of them had their references contacted.

I just turned in my renewal application last Thursday. I did not turn in new references-- my application was accepted without them. Just want to see what happens...after all what could possibly go wrong? We shall see---
