Making it illegal in the first place was a scam

    Darn those pesky Jazz musicians
And Mexican laborers, which is why it was referred to as “marijuana” instead of “Cannabis.

I agree though, it shouldn’t have ever been a thing to ban it, just like the prohibition on alcohol.

    Truth.
I’ve sometimes wondered in MD what the real percentage of card holders is who truly use it for serious, significant health issues. By that I mean those who are truly regularly suffering and need relief. My ...guess... is 7%

When I drive by my local weed store I many times see a BBQ truck, ice cream truck, etc. in the parking lot with people lined up. I’ve never seen one in front of a cancer treatment facility.

    .
I think it’s higher. A LOT of my patients in their 60s and 70s get it from their kids. Good for anxiety, arthritis pain, sleep. Really, especially in the geriatric population, some THC or CBD is much safer than Xanax, Ambien etc.

I just had a question from a prospective HQL student re: an active MD medical cannabis card. My understanding is one who possesses a card is prohibited for 1 year after surrendering it; he was told by a gun shop that it is 2 years. Any definitive answer? Thanks!

Per the MSP gun unit, it is one year from surrendering it.

MSP was asked that question at 30:00 in their 1/25/23 Judiciary Committee Briefing.

They answered they are issuing permits to those individuals. They said however Federally license holder is prohibited Federally from owning firearm. They (MSP) went on to say that there is mixed messaging by issuing the permit.
