So these are legal again as of *right now*? If its appealed to the SC does that change anything.
This does bode well for braces, FRT, etc...
Does MDs law of no rate-increase devices (triggers, bump stocks, etc) still stand?

    Only in the 5th Circuit

Sucks for us here in MD, until the case gets kicked up to SCOTUS.

Buying one as soon as I can.

    Just because
It should be noted that this ruling currently only applies in the 5th circuit. MD is in a different circuit and state law bans "rapid fire trigger activators". Bump stocks may meet the MD definition of a "rapid fire trigger activator"

Doesn't touch on MD law at all, especially the way the opinion is written. As Jcutonilli notes, it is also a different circuit.

Even if it does get struck down nationwide, unless SCOTUS issues an opinion saying it is unconstitutional to ban this kind of stuff, it wont touch on MD law as the lawsuits have focused on misinterpretation of federal law as well administrative law. Not on a constitutional issue (at least that I have seen).

In the mean-time some substantial number of these devices were turned over and/or voluntarily destroyed by law abiding citizens.... more reason for a staunch WWNC ethos.

Looks like we have a big time circuit split.
Question now does the government appeal to SCOTUS or keep the split in place?

I think they’re afraid. If they had the goods so to speak they’d appeal to slam the door shut on any future litigation on the point.

So, bump stocks are now legal in the judicial districts of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas?
