Carroll County Board of Education

Trying to do my research in advance of early voting days. These are supposed to be "non-partisan" positions, so you can't get a sense of general alignment by party affiliation.

Right now the Sample Ballot has:

Tara Battaglia
Patricia Ann Dorsey
Amanda Jozkowski
James Miller
Tom Scanlan
Steve Whisler

The research I found on James Miller (endorsed by Sherriff DeWees and Dan Cox) and Steve Whisler were positive and they seem like good choices.

Not sure who will get my third vote. I do know that three seconds of research on Amanda Jozkowski showed that I WILL NOT BE VOTING FOR HER. The Moms Demand Action endorsement symbol made that crystal clear. Patricia Ann Dorsey seems to be focused on diversity issues as a primary concern, which is not aligned with what I think is most important for the position.

My ideal candidate would be one that focuses on keeping kids safe in the classroom; keeping CRT, gender identify, and other social experiments out of the classroom; focusing on academics/STEM; and supporting special needs students so they aren't left behind.

Anybody else have thoughts on this. Maybe there are only two good choices.

By the way, did I mention, don't vote for Amanda Jozkowski.

Yeah, Scanlan and Jozkowski are card carrying democrats. Not sure about Dorsey though.

I generally look for the “Apple teacher endorsement” as a disqualification for who gets my vote.

Jozkowski is proud to say she has the following endorsements:

• Everytown for Gun Safety
• CCPS Parents for Honest Education
• Run for Something
• Carroll Values Education

I’ll probably vote for:
Miller
Whisler
Battaglia

I have half a dozen good friends that are teachers in the CCPS system, I always ask them who they want voted in. I have completely zero stake in the school system, so I don’t GAF personally. I just vote who my (mostly conservative) friends want to work for, I don’t care who it is. Still haven’t asked them for this upcoming ballot, I should get on that I suppose.

"PAT" is the ticket of socialist indoctrinators. Pat dorsey, Amanda jozo..., Tom scanlon would be like sending our kids to Montgomery and PG county indoctrination centers to become exactly what we don't want our kids to become. Heck, the Amanda chick is straight out of pacific northwest wokeness. Wants CRT taught, wants LGBTQxyz history taught, "pronouns", gender identity garbage, all the stuff that has no place in a public education system.

"BMW" is the ticket if we want to keep Carroll Carroll, Battaglia, Miller, Whisler will get boxes checked on my ballot.

I find it interesting that Cox's picture is on it, as Ready was always Fat Larry's boy (F L appointed him to replace - I think - Joe Getty), and Ambrose was shown on her website sucking up to F L.

I got one yesterday too. Going to vote as a family later today (we always go together)... 4 votes for sanity (unfortunately, just a drop in the ocean). If we were of a different ilk, it could be 400 votes.

I definitely went the BMW route. Just did early voting yesterday. Remember folks, make the effort to vote. Don’t just let the other side win. Make them work for it.

I listened to a couple of issues in the background as my wife watched the BOE debate the entire thing. Battaglia is not getting my vote because what I have heard from her mouth is not intelligent.

I voted Dorsey, Miller, Whistler. No "BMW" for me. My wife voted the same way. Initially, my wife wanted to go with Jozkowski instead of Dorsey, but then I watched an interview of Jozkowski and she came off too far to the left. Showed my wife the video interview and Jozkowski was out.

I just finished up my drop off ballot and it was nice not to see a single Democrat listed for the county positions. Carroll County, where the primary election really matters.

Vote for these 3. You do NOT want Amanda Jozkowski in there, she's a Washington state bred full blown liberal activist. We all know how Seattle is doing. Why bring that mentality here to slower, safer Carroll?

Saw a clear "sign" of who NOT to vote for (outside of this thread). A yard on Old Westminster Pike has signs for Dorsey, Jozkowski, and Miller with a Wes Moore sign.
