Cary Caliber restrictions?

When I did the live fire I used my 9MM. I cannot remember any questions on the application form asking me to identify the caliber I was qualifying with. I'm remembering a form that the instructor pre filled out and asked me to sign. It had may name and bunch of information I didn't bother reading. It did say "9MM' I suspect it was a release of liability for the range. After qualifying the instructor took a picture of the target and gave it to me to attach to the application. There was nothing on the target identifying the caliber I qualified with

Is there any restrictions on what pistol caliber I am legally allows to carry?
Does Md know what caliber I used to qualify?

No. You can carry whatever caliber you want regardless of what you used to certify.

DC forces you to register a firearm you plan to carry. The one(s) you register in DC can be different than the one you used to certify.

Target isn't what MSP require.. but qualifications sheet and certs (with instructors info on it)


No caliber required.. unless you applying for armed security job/permit. (Last I recall)

I've been filling in caliber but no make/model information, and striking through the non-used firearm type. My students' applications have been approved.

That's a generic cert sheet.. being used by armed security also.. hence that blurb is in that sheet.

There are no restrictions on caliber for qualified W&C holders. Keep in mind that those who are training exempt will have no training certificates submitted to the portal. The caliber you qualified with does not matter, as long as you meet the training requirement or are otherwise exempt.

I tried to CCW a .50 BMG but the ladies all thought I was just happy to see them.

For MD no worries about caliber. Other states can restrict the caliber based on what you qualify with.

The picture of the target is unnecessary

Some instructors are taking pics with the persons name and score on it for proof the person did the shooting part.

Scan the test ( if one ), the form and a pic of the target and save it as a pdf and it does not take much space.

There is a restriction. You may carry no caliber heavier than you can lift.
