Probably gonna be a hit piece of some sort. CBS...and the other networks are not known for objectivity and accuracy when there's a narrative to push. Still...I'll wait with an open mind and maybe they'll surprise me with some truth.

the tv show SWAT had a lady wanting to get a handgun after her business was ransacked and they were pounding on her office door. and she admitted she never wanted a gun before she was personally attacked. but then finally when holding a gun she backed down because she didn't want to kill anyone. oh well, almost...

the funny/sad part was the swat leader gave her that gun to shoot and neither had any eye or ear protection, plus he gave it to her loaded vs letting her start by holding and dry firing an empty gun.

Ayoob covered this piece 40 years ago. If I remember his mention at least somewhat correctly, he mentioned making the "Could I actually use it in self defense???" determination up front and well in advance, lest one risk turning a firearm over to someone "a lot less conscience stricken." (I may be paraphrasing here.)

I ran several dozen women through NRA basic pistol at Monocacy many years ago - I would do familiarization with airsoft pistols and even .22 BB and CB caps in revolvers.

most of these women had restraining orders, we’re getting permits, just wanted to know basics.

one women of dozens thought even the airsoft pellet penetrating cardboard was too violent and couldn’t continue.

Freud had things to say about that fear.

But watching women who had never shot a gun before in their lives shooting a S&W model 19 with 2” barrel and rosewood grips at the end of the day, seeing the two foot muzzle flash reflecting in their eyes, asking if they could shoot again, was a high point for me among the hundreds I’ve trained.

I remember a real scenario many years ago in Frederick where a woman's boyfriend who continually violated a restraining order was imprisoned. He was making threats against her while incarcerated...all verified by the authorities and believed he had the will and means to follow through once released.

The woman applied for a wear and carry permit (or whatever it was called at the time...1980s) and it was expedited and she went to the local gun store to buy a handgun. The store owner was told by MSP that while they couldn't authorize them to release the gun before the seven day waiting period was up...they were told to absolutely release the gun to her immediately after the seven days. The MSP was that concerned for her safety.

While I don't know what happened or how it all worked out...it's a shame the powers that be don't have the same concern for citizens in general...at least within the MGA.

That made me cringe too. At least the writing isn't as Woke as season 4. I was worried they were going to have the bullied kid find his mom's gun.

They use some Taran tactical stuff on that show, so part of that whole liberal elite gun bunny click i guess.
