Charles County Government Gun Ban Proposed

The bad thing is I have a county well that is in a small building with pumps in it. That is a county building that in behind my house so if I walk out in my yard with a pistol I could be arrested if this law goes trough.

I have one next to my house in chapel point woods as well.

I encourage anyone living in Charles county to attend the hearing at 1800 on 1/11/2023 and voice your opposition for this bill. The commissioners need to hear us loud and clear. We will not tolerate this nonsense. To exempt themselves from their own bill is plain ridiculous.

Or getting gas at Martins, adjacent businesses, etc.. and what citizen can accurately police what space the County is leasing at any given time.

Not a surprise especially after the most recent board meeting. Corruption at its finest.

The sad thing is that gun monkeys in laplata will be forced out of business as they have a county building less then 100 yards behind their shop.

In what appears to be a "me too" reaction to the Bruen decision, the Charles County Commissioners will hear testimony on a bill to ban the possession of weapons and firearms within 100 yards of certain government buildings, leased properties, etc.

There is NO exemption for persons who hold valid carry permits, or persons simply driving past these locations. Nor is there an exemption for persons who live within 100 yards of these locations.

2A Maryland has submitted a Public Information Act (PIA) request for a list of all locations which will be impacted by this proposed legislation.

Conservative counties won't pass these carry restrictions,, but honestly I don't need to carry in those safe counties.
