    My own experience is that police chiefs have a life cycle. If they leave under any kind of cloud, they don't reappear locally. If they retire in good graces you may see them pop up again nearby.
    In Maryland, most of them are like dead voters. They keep showing up all over the state. A couple of Chiefs retired from three different departments. :eek:

    I wonder what her severence package/ contract buyout/ pension looks like?

    Sounds like she may have been under contract and they didn't renew her.
