****They've hit Chevy Chase several times. Just a short jaunt back into D.C. from there. Seems like easy pickens as very nice cars along with a population not likely to be armed.
Sounds like a nice retirement gig. Could probably move into one of those nice houses too, drink their single malt, enjoy their women.

    MoCo Liberals . . . what's not to love?

I'd like to think this was a joke, but he's apparently serious. Check out the cities he's chosen as exemplary models for DC: Baltimore, San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia . . . Really, Phil?

Clearly the problem is a lack of funding.

The government is not capable of governing, keeping people safe, or enforcing our laws. They are however, very good at enabling those who operate outside the law.

    Yes indeed.

    Something weird here:

On Saturday, December 30, 2023, at approximately 9 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of 12th Street Northwest, for the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a man with gunshot wound injuries. He reported he was walking on U Street when two suspects demanded his belongings. The victim complied, and one of the suspects shot the victim.

Look at how far U Street is from where Officers actually responded to the victim at. Did the man limp all the way there before getting help? Weird.

A Capitol Hill resident concerned over violence in the District is leading a recall effort against Council member Charles Allen.

What's happening: Jennifer Squires, a former federal government worker who had previously voted for Allen, formed a recall committee last month because she believes the reform bill was "going in the wrong direction."

We'll see. One can hope this actually pans out.
They'd have to flush the entire council, and the mayor, to make a dent in the crime. Then they'd have to actually incarcerate the thugs, and open a juvenile Reform School, with corporal punishment, to civilise the yutes. You might turn the city around in a decade or so, but of course punishment instead of "rehabilitation" will never fly. Make crime unpleasant? What am I thinking?
