    Hello -

I just bought a Remington skeet choke for my 870. At the base of each of the grooves used to engage the choke wrench there is a significant burr (about 1mm) on the inside of the choke. It is only at the base of the grooves.

Should I file them down myself or just fire a few shots and knock them down or out?

Any thoughts or experience with this?

    Thanks,
    Rob.

I would take it back for replacement or contact the maker.

It should NOT be like that.

Agreed, but I didn't feel like shipping it back, wait, get another, etc.

The burr, which was an artifact of the the cuts made for the choke wrench, came off (broke off really) pretty easily. I then hit the edge very lightly with a needle file to make sure there was not a sharp edge remaining.
