I worked at diGennaro's Italian Gardens in HS. Before the Paragon Disco was upstairs. I rode my bike there.

Got there one hot summer day and came out from cooling off in the walk-in box and the owner directed me to go out and sweep the sidewalk. Dang, just got cooled off and you're sending me outside to do manual labor.

I stepped out onto the sidewalk and the first thing I see is a pretty blonde with D cups wearing a light blue knit top and not much else.

Yeah, every day after that I was out on that sidewalk first thing. :innocent0

What do they do AFTER they are hypnotized, I wonder? Convince them to vote for Biden?

****I'm guessing they make some of them into bombs to help out with the war on terror! No goats, no glory I always say!

The Starlight Inn, now that’s a name from the past..

    .
My friends and I were in the Starlight Inn one night. One friend called the waitress over and said he wanted to order some food. She said, "Trust me, you don't want to order any food in here." He took her advice and didn't order.

Wife went to UMCP last year before attending Graduate school, Son Graduated UMCP last year.
Walked some of the campus last week with wife and daughter who is considering going there next year and learned they are putting in a Metro? How is that going to work?
If its on campus or right near campus is that going to bring more crime to the campus? Who will use it? Just students? don't think so. Son had bike stolen 3 years ago from a career thief who just walked onto campus. Add a metro to the equation and I predict some chaos.

It's the purple line. There's already the Greenbelt Metro stop which is still really close to the campus. The purple line will make UMD a complete and total sh*tshow.

The purple line will go through the middle of campus. UMD thinks it will make the school more accessible and cosmopolitan. In reality, a bunch of developers are just using it as a reason to throw up apartment buildings.

Were you the bouncer with the long duster jacket???
(Not that I ever darkened the doors there :innocent0)

Nope…not me. I used to sit at the table right in front of the dancers with friends. I also remember the drive-up window had a straight line of sight to the topless dancers. There must have been some complaints about that as the window was moved further down the side of the building.

No idea if they’re still there on Route 1…the McDonalds shared a parking lot with a liquor store…that McDonalds must have had a poor sales records for drinks…you got your food and walked out the front door and into the back door of the liquor store. This was back when MD’s drinking age dropped to 18…when I was a junior.

It's not a "metro" stop, it's an MDTA stop (several actually) called the purple line.

The Starlite has been closed and gone for over 25 years. The McDonald's moved across RT 1 along with the liqeur store and the tire store went out of business. That building was torn down and replaced by several high rise student apartment buildings about 15 years ago.

Well...it has been a long time since I was in that area. Our daughter visited a friend of hers at MD over ten years ago...her friend was in the dorm adjacent to the one I lived in as a student...Iwas amazed at the changes on campus...Denton Beach is now the Performing Arts Center...Byrd Stadium has upper deck seating now...the "Gulch" is no longer there...all the WWII "temporary" building were gone and hi-rise housing is there now. The biggest change of all was that the campus was clean and neat...nothing like the prototypical BLM and Antifa centers of "tolerance" the campus was back then.

Though...gotta say...as Liberal as the campus was in the early '70s the students weren't nearly as intolerant as the Left is today. We had William F. Buckley as a guest speaker with no disrespect shown him by the Left...he was very nice to talk to after his Q&A. We also had Bob Hope perform at Cole Field House...wouldn't have been allowed today. The place may have been a dirty, filthy campus...but there wasn't the intolerance and hate from the Left as there is today.

FWIW, the trio of hotels on Rt. 1 just north of the University Blvd intersection - Red Roof, Days Inn, and HoJo - are gone. Excavators were making quick work of removing what's left of them.

Yep, more apartment housing, supposed to market rate for families with businesses on the bottom level.
