I shot on my college rifle team. Back before shooting was a recognized NCAA sport.

Good to see more colleges with competitive shooting programs.

NCAA shooting championships were just held at Alaska-Fairbanks and the competition was very strong.

Intl Air rifle scores here locally in the jr programs are routinely reaching high 580s / 600 for shooters in late middle school/high school.

It is a great sport for children and one I'm glad we found for my youngest, but wish we had found for the older three.

Overall, the article was decent, but I found the second half of the article was much better than the first...and both were better than the headline. The headline writer, and to a lesser degree the first few paragraphs, made it sound conspiratorial, that the evil gun industry was trying to get kids "hooked on guns" by pumping money into the collegiate shooting programs. I was pleasantly surprised that the article then continued into students finding the programs were both challenging as well as helpful in reducing the stress of studying.
