Yeah. No forward assist or dustcover and a steel barrel.

You are correct. I will say it does have the cutouts for both though, just plugged. So those can be added if anyone wants this upper enough and is willing to get the parts and add them.

Not sure about the steel barrel. Pretty sure that's most of them these days. Those wooden ones caused so many problems. :p

I know you meant non-chrome lined, just hassling you. ;)

Too bad Mythbusters is done with. That'd be a pretty sweet episode. Wooden gun barrels!

I have a wooden barrel on my SHTF AR. That way it works as normal and I can also break a section off and have kindling too.

It was a thing once upon a time, I saw a History Channel show on arms once and they mentioned it. My Google-fu is failing me right now, though.

Not surprising. It depends what you call a gun/firearm. I've seen rocket-propelled arrows shot out of what amounts to an easily angled, tapered wooden box. For my money, that's pretty close to a gun.

Mythbusters did do am episode where they made a cannon out of a giant tree trunk. They used steel belts to give it extra support. It worked.
