Fear not, Captain, we've all probably done it once or twice.

Was trying to make the point that 6/8 stories on the homepage headlined illegal gun use in Delaware, AND our leaders still want to restrict the rights of law abiding citizens. They have it backwards...again.

The post wasn't supposed to be about the Permit-to-Purchase proposal.

I see what you see now.

When does the "Stomping Shoes" permit to purchase law get introduced?

LOL. They'll probably try and fast track that through the legislature with no/limited public input. Then they'll probably vote to give themselves a raise since they're working so hard for the people of Delaware. If you believe that, I have a bridge I would like to sell you. :)

    From DSSA email:

Radical Democrats Poised to Ram Permit-to-Purchase Bill Through the House

Senate Substitute 1 for Senate Bill 2 with House Amendment 2

    “Irresponsible, unconstitutional, dangerous and stupid.”

Why are we spending $15 million of your taxpayer dollars on a so-called “Permit-to-Purchase Scheme” that admittedly does nothing to stop the violence and only disarms and harms law-abiding citizens, when that $15 million could be – and should be - used for housing, schools, mental health, jobs, and making our communities healthier, cleaner and safer?

The sponsors of SS#1 for SB 2 have admitted that it will do nothing to stop gang violence or to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Criminals being criminals don’t care about laws – it’s stupid to believe otherwise.

So why are we spending $15 million dollars on this program when we have done NOTHING to implement the programs the Federal Center for Disease Control (CDC) said were needed to address those issues?

The CDC gave us the blueprint years ago for addressing gang violence in Wilmington - and the Delaware General Assembly has done NOTHING.

Why $15 million dollars for Permit-to-Purchase and $0.00 for the CDC Community Improvement and Violence Reduction Programs?

    Why?

Because SS#1 for SB 2 isn’t really about public safety. It’s about “gun control” – pure and simple. The sponsors of SS#1 for SB 2 have admitted as much.

Hidden deep within SS#1 for SB 2 is a registration scheme – a scheme that will create a handgun registry in Delaware.

During the debate in the Senate, the question was asked:

“Is this about gun registration?” Senator Sturgeon, a co-sponsor, nodded her head, “Yes”!
“Is this registration leading to gun confiscation?” Senator Sturgeon, again emphatically nodded her head, “Yes”!

Senator Lockman finally told the truth! She even stated that even criminals will obey this law!!!

According to Senator Lockman’s head-nodding “yes”, SS#1 for SB 2 is all about registration and eventual confiscation – Amazing! They finally told the truth!

$15 Million dollars for gun control, registration and eventual gun confiscation and $0.00 for mental health, community improvement, education, jobs, or reduction in gang violence – that’s their plan.

Irresponsible! Unconstitutional! Dangerous! Stupid! – That’s Senate Substitute #1 for Senate Bill 2 in a nutshell.

    CALL FOR ACTION

    Call your State Representative today.

Tell your State Representative to vote “No” on Senate Substitute 1 for Senate Bill 2.
Tell your State Representative that it is irresponsible and stupid to spend $15 Million on gun control bills that do nothing the CDC suggests for public safety.
Tell your State Representative you know the truth – you know Senator Lockman’s answers – you know that Senate Substitute 1 for Senate Bill 2 is really about registration and confiscation.
Tell your State Representative to vote NOTHING ($0.00) for SS#1 for SB 2 until all the CDC’s recommendations are implemented.
Tell your State Representative that not only is SS#1 for SB 2 UNCONSTITUTIONAL, but it is also IRRESPONSIBLE, DANGEROUS AND STUPID.

Find your State Representative here. Find my Legislator https://legis.delaware.gov/

Call Today – Time is of the Essence

They rammed SS#1 for SB 2 through the Senate in just one day – without public notice and without public comment. Expect them to try it again in the House.

Every Call Counts - Call Today!

    AND THEN

Tell your family, friends and neighbors to join you in supporting DSSA in our fight to defeat Carney’s gun bans in the federal and state courts.
Tell them that the best way to defeat SS1 for SB 2 is to defeat Carney’s gun bans in the Third Circuit – and set a precedent for freedom nation-wide.
Tell your family, friends and neighbors to dig deep and contribute to DSSA’s Civil Rights Defense Fund – Freedom is not free – and every little bit helps!

    AND THEN

Tell them they can contribute here. www.dssa.us/
