I kind'a think like Franklin as I like to shoot and hunt with almost any of my guns. However, my most used firearms are:

Remington 700 BDL in 30.06. I usually carry a backup gun in case of problems with my primary. That's usually my Browning BLR 81 in .308.

Browning A-500 with rifled choke tube in shotgun areas or Mossberg 500 with cantilevered rifled barrel with scope for deer hunting in shotgun areas.

Browning Citori for most bird hunting. The A-500 or Mossberg 500 with field barrel will fill in about everywhere else.

When I used to groundhog hunt some years back, I primarily used my Ruger M77 Varmiter in 6mm Remington. I've also used my T/C ...either 30 Herrett or .223...both Super-14 barrels. The Herrett has a Williams Target Peep site, the .223 has a Bushnell Phantom 3x EER scope.

A Browning BLR-22 has been used on occasion for small game hunting.

My T/C Contender in 30 Herrett or Smith M29 44 mag for occasional deer hunting with a handgun.

Coolest guns I've hunted with: My Parker VH grade 12 gauge has been used for doves on occasion. Gets a lot of second looks from guys in the dove field :). After that it would have to be either one of my T/Cs or my Mannlicher Schoenauer in .244 Rem (6mm Rem).

My synthetic stock Model 75 Sako ---pronounced SOCKO --- in 30-06, mounted with a Burris 1.5-4X scope. I do like the newer Sako Model 85 better, cuz the magazine release lever is less likely to be accidently tripped.

I used to use my remy 700 .270, ain't missed a deer with it yet. But I have been using my T/C encore for both muzzle loader and gun season the last couple years. I just like the thing a lot and it shoots great.

    Too numerous to list, actually.

    Small list:

    S&W mdl 41 (.22lr) for squirrels.
870 Slug gun (12 ga) for deer.
T/C Triumph (.50 cal) for deer.
Remington 700 BDL (.30-'06) for black bear.
Marlin 1895G (.45-70) for hogs and deer and anything larger.
Glock for things that 'go bump' in the night. :D

Remington custom shop model 700 in .280 rem that I found on line for $400 and restocked in a McMillan stock that I found at a gun show for $10. Topped it off with a Leupold 3.5-10 that cost more than the rifle and stock combined. It will put 5 berger 168gr vld hunting bullets into less than 3/4" at 200yds.

All of them, depends on what mood I'm in.

Yep, me too. Also depends on "where" I'm hunting. SoMD go-to guns:
    T/C Omega .50 for deer
SBE for waterfowl ... retiring - just acquired replacement (super vinci), it's not "go-to" yet
    Ruger RL for upland birds
Ruger MKII, Single Six, 10/22, Marlin 917VS for edible vermin
Remington 700 VS SF II in 22-250 for vermin I "really hate"

Outside of SoMD, all manner of stuff ....

    a remington 742 in .30-06

Everything I've ever hit with this gun has died instantly. With remington Core-Lokt, it's freaking monster and INCREDIBLY accurate for an autoloader

oh, I misunderstood, I didn't realize we were including small game and varmints.

ruger 10/22 stainless with a Leapers fixed 6x scope on it.

I know what you're going to say, but the scope has worked for nearly a decade now, held zero like a champ, and accounted for more squirrels than I can even begin to count.

I also have a savage edge that I bought for a friend's kid and ended up keeping (I ended up getting the kid a savage AXIS, almost the same gun) that I can literally nail a groundhog with at 200 yards no problem with remington .223 55 grain HP

I use my SBE for almost all of my wing shooting. I checked out the design of the Super Vinci and it looks pretty awesome. If it works well, it will be nice to have the recoil spring as part of the bolt assembly versus having it in the stock like the SBE. My problem is justifying a new hunting shotgun when the SBE is still working and there are a couple of backups available too.

Anyway, if you can remember, after hunting season I'd love to hear your comparison between the SBE and the Super Vinci.

My 40+ year old Savage 99F in .308. I've taken countless deer and one bear with it. Although I have more modern, higher caliber rifles, this remains my "Go To Gun". Bought it in 1973 for $75.00, great deal.
