I just wanted to share. DPMS LR 308 Sportical topped with a Zeiss Orion 80 night vision scope. Shes a pig though 15 lbs 10 ozs. Looks like I better get in the gym.

On a side note, has anyone fired their Orion with an AR at night?
I'm wondering how the scope shows/handles the flash from the barrel.

Orion is set up for .308, not .223.
you're good to go to 300Yds anyway though. The STANAG mounts are high enough the flash is below the FOV, assuming a decent muzzle device.

What mount did you use?

I used the arms mount that Keep Shooting recomended. It works great the only thing is you cant use the lock washers because the screw doesnt sit flush enough to lock to the top of the rifle.

Definitely liking the look.Picked up the same scope and the plan was to do a FAL in either OD or Tiger Stripe.Haven't picked up a kit to build or a beater to refinish so had contemplated getting rid of the scope.May expand the idea a bit and look in to an AR10 instead may be quicker and easier to obtain.
