While working on 2 of my target bows and trying to get one to match the other, I'm reminded of how important draw length is to archery..
Perfect draw length makes you hold steadier! That simple..
You ever have different bows that shot better? More than likely it fit you better!
In order to hold a bow easily at full draw, the body needs to be aligned good, your draw length being set right is what puts the alignment in place...
After the season is over, if you question rather yours is set right or not.. Take a twist out or in (depending on which way you need to go) of the cable, and practice a few days and note a difference... You'll find there is a sweet spot (normally within 2 twist) where you can hold really, really well... And if you are holding, aiming well then it's easier to slowly squeeze the trigger!
If that one twist didn't make a difference do it again until it's better or worse! You'll find it, just takes a little discipline and time.. If you have an indoor range (with press) it's easier to do it..
You'll have people tell you the wing span method is all you need.. That method will get you very close, but the final few fractions is up to you to experiment with..
It's fun to do, easy aiming makes shooting more fun and helps when you go to tune and sight in.. and it boost your confidence when aiming at a deer...
Even buck fever movement will be more less when your draw is set right..
Forgot to mention, when you find it.. Mark it! So you can duplicate it on other bows you have... Take an arrow at full draw and
have someone mark it with a paint pen at the burger button hole. As most bows this is the farther point in on the grip also..
