First AR Advice

Looking to buy my first AR. I don't want to build one and am trying to stay below $1k. Any thoughts from some of the more experience folks? Thanks.

If you just want an AR to say you have one I would recommend the Smith/Wess MP 15. It is less than $700 with tax. Then you could buy ammo and mags and still be under a K.

Building is always an option. Teaches you a lot of the small nuances of the AR, and it is not as hard as you think it would be.

Since you can't get the banned M&P, I'd suggest a Wyndham HBAR. Many IP's here have them in stock.
