Looking to buy my first AR. I don't want to build one and am trying to stay below $1k. Any thoughts from some of the more experience folks? Thanks.

    Depending on where you are:

    Engage in Rockville

    Shooter's Discount in Mr. Airy

    2A Sales in Jessup

    Bollinger's in Taneytown

    Duffy's in Sparks

The Bank in Havre de Grace

All can fix you up with a nice AR, for under $1000.

Building is always an option. Teaches you a lot of the small nuances of the AR, and it is not as hard as you think it would be.

Visit Cromwellsfirearms in lexington park. He can set you up in the right direction.

    I'm in Southern Maryland.

I'd appreciate any input on reputable dealers and brands, especially brands to stay away from. Thanks.

Call Nate at Engagement in Rockville and have him build you one. Will be nicer than a low-ball mainstream one.

If you have to have a factory rifle, get Colt or Windham.
