I can drown worms with the best of them but I have almost no idea wtf im doing when it comes to targeting specific fish, which bait to use or which time of day is best. I have no particular species in mind when fishing. I just want to go out and catch fish. I don't really like eating fish. Crabs are a different story but fish not so much. Just looking for some guidance or advice on bait, rigs or whatever help anyone is willing to give.

I would go to your local Bait Shop and ask what is working where you are going to fish.
You can also go to Tidalfish.com and join there and ask.

If I want to fish around the Middle River area, like in Gunpowder Falls State Park, I need to get the Chesapeake Bay & Coastal Sport Fish License, correct?

Anywhere close to Middle River where I can get this license?

    Thanks!

    Found the info.

Try bottom rigs and high low rigs. Use nightcrawlers. They are inexpensive and catch most fish. waters north of the bay Bridge is mostly fresh to brackish. Try these piers:

    Fort Amistad
    Marina Park in joppa
Shop and save lot in Havre dr Grace
    Hospital downtown.
State park off of route 40 near 43.
    Essex area piers
    Big gunpowder
