White, Republican, hard on crime Sheriff,, White, Republican supporting, business owner.
    Liberal Democrat US Attorney.

We are/will be seeing this play out across the land.
The left has openly declared war on "Older white males" going back 5-8 years.
They do not even pretend to hide it.

The Left has had a throbbing hard-on for Jenkins for 10+ years,,,
Tax codes, gun laws, business laws, etc,,, you can not follow everyone of them to a T,,

This is a classic example of "Show me the man, I'll find a crime"

(Why did I bring race into it? because the Dems have pounded that into us,, race is the most inportant factor in everything)

My guess here is that they may have been doing something that was technically at the legal boundaries. However, the indictments could stem from actions taken after an initial investigation began. Creating a “fake reason” for previous actions, and then fabricating documents to support that reason, could in itself be the main crime here.

Again, it’s sad to see this. These folks should know that, in this state, their business and professional activities will always be subject to a higher level of scrutiny (even potentially politically motivated scrutiny) than the average joe.

My wife just heard from someone that works in the area of the sheriffs office that they were told to go home because they were getting ready to have a press conference (4PM); probably can’t wait to get in front of the cameras. I am sickened by this whole mess.

So, what happens now? Will an interim replacement be appointed? With Jenkins gone, how long until we hear that big flushing sound of Frederick County going down the shitter?

How will they prove there was never any intent to have demonstrations for that police department or any other? Can these prosecutors see the future?

Is there a legal definition of demonstration or is the "crime" not explicitly stating on the application that the firearms would also be housed (guessing) at MGN and used for demonstrations other than law enforcement (rental to public)?
"The indictment alleges that Jenkins and Krop knew there wouldn't be a demonstration of the machine guns and that they were intended for rental to Krop's customers."

When is a rental not a demonstration?

Were the firearms supposed to be returned?

Let's see if the story gets updated soon...

SOTs get to keep samples and use them for other pair purposes, but not having done a demo for the agency and the agency not having an interest in them might cause problems.

“The law letter required by section 479.105(d) authorizes a qualified licensee to obtain a post-86 machinegun for demonstration to the requesting government entity in anticipation of future sales. A law letter from a government entity must express the government entity’s need for, or interest in seeing a demonstration of, a particular machinegun. A licensee may not use a law letter as a method to enhance a personal collection or inventory of machineguns with assistance from a government entity. It is unlawful to use a fraudulent law letter to circumvent the transfer and possession restrictions under 18 U.S.C. § 922(o). Examples of using a fraudulent law letter to circumvent section 922(o) may include submitting a law letter on behalf of a government entity without that government entity’s knowledge or submitting a law letter when the licensee knows the government entity has no interest in the machinegun requested.”

“identification of the agency’s interest in the machinegun (for example, purchase, or
    demonstration)”

So... Best I can figure out is that THE ALLEGATION is that the owner of TMGN wants more machine guns for the business. He gets his friend the Sheriff to sign off on interest letters saying that the Dept was demos of some new Class 3 guns. Both people know there's no such interest by the Agency but TMGN uses them to procure "samples" which are then rented at the business.

All unsubstantiated rumor, but with enough to get an indictment.

The women over at the frederick socialist groups will wear holes in their palms jacking it to this. They've been aggressively targeting Jenkins for years.

At press conference, we're assured Jenkins remains the active Sheriff, and that he's been in touch with and cooperating with the Feds on this for a year now. No other comment under the circumstances.

From the indictment, go big or go home I guess.

Presser says that while the Sheriff (and others there) knew about the investigation, the indictment of the Sheriff was a surprise, not expected.

Presser is over, with only a few meaningful questions:

    1) What happened to the MGs in question? Spox did not know anything about the goings-on at TMGN.

    2) Are the Deputies in the department trained on MGs, and the MGs in question, in particular? Spox says he doesn't know, will get back on that.

    3) Does the department own any MGs, like for SWAT, etc? Spox didn't know (really?) and said he'd get back with a complete list of all the weapons the department owns.

Then, "No more questions? OK, see ya," and event over.

I wonder if the Dims will offer the job to Brian Frosh? He's out of work at the moment, isn't he? :innocent0 And shutting down guns has been his life's mission. Seems like a perfect fit... for a manic fanatic like him... but to the complete detriment of everyone else.

How does this relate to the video The Machine gun nest put out a couple weeks ago about the Feds asking them for customer info?
