    A couple months ago had a great time at the Museum of the Confederacy, talk about a great collection of black powder and early cartridge arms.

    This one caught my eye, finally identified it. Any guesses?

    Callisher and Terry breech loading carbine. It was an English gun, but there were some imported into the Confederacy because both Jeb Stuart and Jefferson Davis had one. I believe the MOC has Jeb Stuart's carbine.

    Is your photo reversed, because it looks like a Calisher & Terry carbine. .56 caliber?

    Nice job of getting feet in the picture :-)

    Ya the guy was a little stiff, downright wooden.

    Pretty cool stuff at that museum, the Sharps section just made me drool.
