Funny: Moms Demand Action gets trolled by college student

Somewhat at random, I ran across a young lady named Deb on Twitter. Deb was a new Twitter member and a supporter of Moms Demand Action. We got into a few discussions and she actually seemed very reasonable. We talked at at length last night about statistics, data analysis, population sizes, etc. I saw a lot of potential for, well, making a convert.

Well, I got trolled right along with MDA.

Turns out that Deb is pro-gun, carries her Sig concealed to anti-gun rallies, and wanted to test the waters re: suicide numbers with MDA (she's a psych major and suicide reduction is kind of her "thing").

She posted about her several-day experiment on GeorgiaPacking.org. It's a fun read. With pics of the offending tweets by MDA folks.

Given "Deb's" trolling mission, I had my suspicions about "her" real identity. But I wasn't going to call "her" out on it.

It still makes a good story though.

Well if I learned anything from this woman's short study is that gun rights supporters need to underscore the antis hypocrisy when it comes to "common sense laws that save lives".

Anti: Guns kill over 31000 last year.
2A: More like 12000 you can't count the suicides.
Anti: Why
2A: People bent on suicide will do it regardless of the tool.
Anti: BS
2A: Look at all the suicides by other than gun.
Anti: If the gun wasn't there they wouldn't have committed suicide.
2A: if the gun wasn't there they would have found pills, windex, razors, highway overpass, bridge, rope.
Anti: Wow you are sick, See all you gun nuts care about guns not they people they hurt.

I'm pretty sure I've had that exact discussion.
