Honorable Scott S. Harris Clerk Supreme Court of the United States Washington, D.C. 20543

Re: Merrick B. Garland, Attorney General, et al. v. Jennifer VanDerStok, et al., No. 23-852

Dear Mr. Harris: The petition for a writ of certiorari in the above-captioned case was granted on April 22, 2024, and petitioners’ opening brief is currently due on June 6, 2024. Because of scheduling difficulties and the press of other cases, the parties respectfully request, under Rule 30.4 of the Rules of this Court, that the time within which to file petitioners’ brief (and the joint appendix) be extended to and including June 25, 2024, and that the time within which to file respondents’ brief be extended to and including August 13, 2024. If those extensions are granted, the reply brief would be due on September 12. Respondents’ counsel have authorized us to represent that respondents consent to this briefing schedule.
    Sincerely,
    Elizabeth B. Prelogar Solicitor General
