Seven assailants, three of whom were armed with guns, robbed a man at gunpoint Monday night, beat him and stole his car near a Boys and Girls Club in Annapolis, police said.

wow, 7 2? business owners with unrestricted permits, all in the same place! Was there a 2A rally and we missed the thread?

Two of the assailants were armed with handguns, while another was wielding a shotgun, the man told police.

Long gun open carry is legal, in Annapolis, right?

The assailants rifled through the man’s pockets and began beating him, police said.

because why not, its only 7 on 2 and I mean its not like law abiding people in this state can shoot back, am i rite?

Worry not, the Anne Arundel County Gun Violence Task Farce has a recommendation that will fix this.

Was just re-reading their preliminary report last night. I believe the following bullet items [pun intended] would have addressed this particular event -
    • Officially declare gun violence a public health crisis in the county.
    • Participate as a county in the national Gun Safety Consortium to encourage gun manufacturers to produce guns with safety features.
    • Advocate for 100 percent criminal background checks for all firearms sales.
    • Support national testing for knowledge and proficiency in gun use prior to purchase.
    • Hold public forums in combination with education initiatives on gun violence prevention measures.
    • Create a strategic communications plan for the deployment of gun violence prevention messages to the public, including the development of a communications and public outreach calendar.
    • Create a Victim Services Response Team (modeled after Crisis Intervention) utilizing wraparound services that include access to government, faith-based and community resources.
    • Establish a centralized data repository to streamline interagency collaboration and facilitate the sharing of data between law enforcement agencies and gun violence prevention stakeholders.
    • Support statewide legislation to require buyers of rifles and shotguns to have a qualifying license and be subject to a background check prior to purchase;
While there are many other recommendations, I believe that if this subset had been fast-tracked the disagreement between these individuals could have been completely avoided. If only there had been a Victim Services Response Team in place to counsel the recently disencumbered individual.

Funny how disarming techniques and self defense are not part of that. Who cares what happens to the public when you can send thoughts and prayers right?

Watch the MGA fast track these this session... :puke: :puke2:

I'm betting that if the victim puts in for a W&C they'll be turned down because there was only one event, not a trend. We need a gun owners' tax revolt to get their attention. :mad54:

What is a faith based resource?

It's an organization that really, really, really, faithfully believes that anything on that list will stop a criminal from committing a crime. And if they say they truly believe, they'll get a grant of some kind, which we get to pay for.
