Lxix, Gryphon, teratos, tsmith1499, Shift and myright--thanks for the online high-5's!
Special thanks to DC-W and others who gave expanded realtime coverage and to Overboost44 for managing testimony paper flow for me.
Great to see: dblas (MSI Pres), rwbox1969, sigXfine, DC-W, Tim Montoya, jaybeez, dogbone, mopar92, lou45, shafTed, mjd438, Andi Morony (MD State Rifle and Pistol Club), John Jocelyn (AGC), Mxrider and Ms. mxrider, jacqueline, frogman, t-ball, Apagios, DavidMS, rambling_one and Shannon Alford (NRA)
.... Basically a day with no opposition testimony, so a real plus!
Again we bow to Rack & Roll for his ace real time reporting.
I don't have the words to sufficently describe jack NcCauley's Testimony.

Zirkin is asking why isolate one crime as opposed to how to transfer guns for other disqualifying crimes... But we need to be adamant that the transfer options in the bill are too limited. Turn them into the police or sell them. Not right. You should be able to transfer them to another person.
If this bill makes it over to the house, I'm coming down there to testify on this!
Lou45 just informed me that MSP crime lab just walked out the door. perhaps that's why the shell casing law was rescheduled?
Why not hold it early today?
Now folks have to haul back down there for another day.
Zirkin killed panels on these bills. Everyone is being called one by one in no particular order.
Lou and his velvety voice... The committee should agree with everything he says just because.
Lou45 has fallen asleep.
Poke him for heavens sakes!
They do have imaginary friends ya know..
Anybody else get the sense that Zirkin decided not to do panels specifically to take away from the synergy and cohesion of our affiliated groups?
He was reasonably polite and accommodating throughout the day, but it seemed like the intended effect of bringing people up individually was to break up the power bloc that's always there (NRA, MSI, etc).
That's amazing. Applause to all that spent these 2 days in Annapolis.
I'm very thankful to see so many conscientious, intelligent, and incredibly determined people involved in this fight. I could feel true emotions and frustration of those who filled the Senate hearing room. "I" have proudly become "They."
No one has ever won a fight they ran from. I owe a special thanks to Jeremy Tolliver for encouraging my continued involvement. He's one of many warriors who deserves special recognition. Thanks to everyone for supporting the entire movement to educate others.
Jack McCauley
You are quite welcome. It was nice to be able to help and to read through 400 pages of testimony!
Right on! Thanks for the hard work RnR. Jack had me in a state of awe.
I don't want to leave anyone out, but todays testimony was the best I have seen. Everyone did a great job. I noticed several times the amount of delegates in attendance dwindled or they showed little interest. Though I swear the delegate in front of me had MDS on his computer the whole time. The red bar at the top was too familiar. He had one of those tinted screens covering the writing, but he was reading it. I don't know his name, but maybe someone does.
Company policy. Not the law. I carried in Disney world and wouldn't go without carrying. Talk about desirable soft targets for terrorists and predators.....Looked it up. Can't carry in Disneyworld.
Jaybeez, it was nice meeting you. Thanks for kicking ass and dropping those video links!
There was a discussion in the anteroom about this issue - Zirkin does not like panels and, apparently, has done this with most of the hearings to date. He usually likes to take witness testimony in the timestamp order of sign-ups. In yesterday's case, there were "so many" people that signed up for 4 of the bills, that the committee staff took the list, sorted it in Excel, eliminated to duplicates, and handed it to the Chairman - hence the "alphabetical by first name" sorting.Anybody else get the sense that Zirkin decided not to do panels specifically to take away from the synergy and cohesion of our affiliated groups?

Of course, Jack McCauley showed up and floored that place. What a speaker; had every single person's undivided attention and spoke with massive authority.

Several of the Senators mentioned that they had panel witnesses coming to testify, since deference is normally given to the lobbyist/sponsor panels as they tend to have professional-sounding presentations, with facts/evidence in hand and actually follow-up when asked for additional information (Frosh did permit this during the past several years, IIRC). That does not appear to be the way that JPR will operate for as long as Zirkin remains chair.
Where in the room was that Senator sitting??? If it's on the far left (as viewed from the peanut gallery) and on the end seat, it was Justin Ready District 5, my Senator. When he was House Delegate for Carroll, he and I had many a talk behind closed doors. Good guy and on our side he is.

There's a case before the big court on just this type of situation http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/henderson-v-united-states-2/
Might be a good idea to wait & see before making laws on it
