Does a bare frame need to be on the Roster?

I'd like to get a 2011 frame, haven't decided exactly yet. Am I stuck getting a STI frame since they have some 2011's on the list? Or can I go with something like a CK Arms which I don't see on the list?

I'm assuming I'd have to get the STI frame.

I've been wondering this for a while. I've asked a few dealers, forget which ones, and they seemed unsure. I think it should be gtg considering AR lowers are ok. And before anybody snaps at me about the, "Oh, that's because it can be both pistol or rifle.", there are kits with 16" barrels and stocks for the 1911.
