Looking for info on anyone who has went through the process of petitoning for the handgun roster. Any threads where its explained already? What's the process? Are there groups or organizations that periodically petition all or any new guns?

Looking to get that new Beretta 80x but can't until it's on the list. How long does it take once proposed?

A little less than 3 to 6 is the time frame I come up with depending on when it’s submitted. If a sample is needed for review a ffl would have to do the submission. I believe anyone can file if a sample isn’t needed. Most new models from popular brands get submitted as soon as they are available. I’ve only had to submit one popular brand but a few of the not so popular.

I have done two submissions. I think 3-6 months is what it took mine.
If it is a caliber addition it is easier and you most likely will not have to send the firearm.
Email this lady she was super helpful. There is a form you will need to complete.
    rachel.rosenberg@maryland.gov
    With the form I sent:
    - A PDF of the owner's manual,
    - A PDF of the manufacturer's website with specs listed and a description.

Any official information in the public space can speed up the process.

    Good Luck
