Does anyone have any recommendations for an engraving near Harford County? I found a few through a search here but it doesn't look like most are still in business. Thanks.
Have you tried salt water engraving? This website, http://www.dogfightink.com/80percentlowersmarkings.html, can supply an adhesive stencil of anything you want. Practice on some scrap first, take your time, and you can get an outstanding results. An aluminum lower takes about an hour, steel takes longer but still gives good results. You can make it as deep as you want, depending on what your requirements are. Lots of instructional videos on line.
Would this technique work for an item that's already anodized? The examples I saw were bare metal.
No. It only works on bare metal.
I just went to Duffys the other, $75 for two SBR lowers in and out in 20 minutes.
This is what I thought. Have you tried it with bare metal before?
