    Hello All,
I’m new to concealed carry, so I’m coming here to get some advice from the more experienced.

I’m planning on carrying my Glock 43x IWB when the weather is warm. My concern is when it’s cold and I’m wearing a big winter coat. Doubt I’d be able to get to the gun quickly under the coat. I was thinking keeping the pistol in a pocket holster in the coat. Investigating these holsters online, it looks like pocket holsters are designed to keep a gun in pants pocket. My question is are their holsters that work better for coats, or will any pocket holster work? Thanks!

Eric Larson of HBE Leather would be able to make a holster specifically fitting a particular pocket. He suggested that if I had a specific shape he could cut the leather to fit. I opted for a generic, but a custom design could be made, I'm sure. You'd have to provide the particulars, certainly.

Desantis Nemesis or Superfly would work.

I have the superfly (several, actually), and it works great in pants, but it relies on friction to stay in the pocket when you draw the firearm.

I don't think it would work well in a loose coat pocket. You'd be drawing a pistol & holster together every time.

Huh? You draw the pistol from under whatever is covering it. Big coat, thin shirt, etc ... It's the same motion.
    Don't put a 43x in a pocket for god's sake.
You go into the store and unzip your coat. Viola! There's your pistol when you need it.

Funny. This reminded me of a very sweet moment.
I was in Zurich one trip. I remember walking having my coffee and I sat on this small wall at a park that was behind an older building.
There was this top floor studio that was a violin shop. Open windows.
I was watching this old man, with his apron and tools, making violins.
Just watching him doing his craft made for a very nice peaceful moment for me. He was probably in his 70's or better. I'm guessing making beautiful violins his whole life.
What a life for someone to live.
    What a great memory.

True, I’ve not tried practicing with a coat on. I can try it I suppose. Lifting up the coat, while grabbing the shirt underneath seems like it would be difficult, or at least time consuming.

Why are you lifting the coat up? You sweep it back.

I’ve got a Superfly for the G43x, have carried it in cargo shorts that way, doesn’t print on me, but didn’t like losing a pocket vs IWB/OWB.

I have a standard kydex IWB holster for my 43x that I'll throw on for a quick trip. In the winter I've been known to just throw it in my chest pocket in that holster.

It's not ideal, but I'm required to carry when I drive my cruiser, so it is what it is.

I must be overthinking or doing it wrong, but the only thing I feel I can get away with pocket carrying is a LCP.
I've tried to pocket a Hellcat and it just feels wrong.

Hellcat and Sig365 are too big for normal pants carrying. However, I can fit my P365 in a Nemisis holster in the inside pocket of my dress coat or the side pockets of my field jacket. It feels a little awkward since one side is heavier but it doesn't print.

Crossbreed makes one called the Pocket Rocket and Cargo Pocket Rocket, they work well to carry larger ones like a Hellcat or G43x or P365 but you’ll need a deep pocket. Looks like a large phone/ small tablet from through the clothing.
