How do I get a Conceal Carry in Illinois

I have my MD permit but Illinois does not accept our awesomeness. I tried to look at USconcealedcarry.com for directions but I didn’t see anything obvious.
So, how would one awesome person from MD get an Illinois concealed carry permit? It looks like there is some reciprocity with VA, would my out of state permit qualify?

I also tried the search function but it didn’t return any useful results.

Unfortunately IL only recognizes 6 states to have laws and training equivalent to theirs and allows them to apply for a non resident permit

MD is not one of them

1.Arkansas 2. Idaho 3. Mississippi 4. Nevada 5. Texas 6. Virginia

Check https://handgunlaw.us/ . Click on IL and you'll see the process and who can apply. As Swinokur said, only 5 states qualify.

I believe you have to be a resident of Virginia for Illinois to accept.

Won’t help. IL does not recognize NR permits

You must have a resident permit from one of the state they recognize as similar

My brother lives in IL and has his permit. For GP I googled IL handgun carry permit and also went to the state police. I found it very quickly and read through. Didn't take long for me to realize I won't waste the time and money to get it, especially since I rarely go back to IL.
