    Hi everyone,

I've been wanting to buy a Keltec RDB for some time, and it seems they
    are slowly becoming available.

The rifle has a total OAL of about 27.4" with the factory comp. I've asked owners to measure, and they state that from butt to the start of the threading of the barrel is about 25.5 inches.

This would necessitate at least a 3.5" muzzle device to make it Maryland
    legal at 29".

I am wondering what are the legal issues I would face purchasing this rifle?

I was asking around, and some have told me that the shipping FFL in
the sending state needs to affix the muzzle device before shipping it
    to my Maryland FFL.

Others have told me that it can be shipped in its factory configuration
to my Maryland FFL, but he would need to affix the muzzle device before
transferring it to me, the buyer.

This rifle is new and has only recently come into consumer production,
so it shouldn't be banned by name in our state, or so I would believe.

I talked to my gunsmith about it, who also happens to be an FFL,
and he is unsure about the law here since he does not ordinarily handle
firearm sales. I am thinking about having the rifle transferred through him
since he can handle the fixing of muzzle device and also the transfer since
    he is an FFL holder.

The RDB20 version is an option. At 30.2" it's much safer in Maryland. After all, it's just common sense
That's my plan.. if I ever find one!

Engage Armament an IP here took an IWI X95 and pinned a muzzle device to it to get to an OAL of 30"

Just buy it over the internet and ship it to your door or pick one up at any gun show through the loophole. At least that is what the anti's and media will tell you, according to them it happens all the time. Probably could just pick one up just lying around in any park or school playground.

    Yes that is sarcasm.

A number of our Industry Partners, see the IP section, are both familiar with the laws and capable of permanently affixing devices to make specific guns legal in Maryland. I suggest you try one of them and if the cost is similar go with the experience.

I just wanted to post an update. I now have my RDB and it's a great
rifle! Next to my (pre-2013 ban) Tavor and AR15, I think the RDB is becoming my favorite! I've put over 300 rounds of 5.56 through it without any issues.

It's not banned by name. As long as you guys can find a decent muzzle device to extend the length. It's lightweight, intuitive to handle. I would highly recommend this rifle. :)

:party29: That's a feel good story and a nice collection. Congrats on your quest.

    Thank you.

I've been envious of this rifle for months now. Never thought I would
be able to own one. But decided I would go all out to actually make it happen.
Couldn't be more thrilled to have it at home with me now! :D

Okay. The page doesn't show GO ADVANCED on my iphone. Is there an option on iphone to view the webpage in full mode rather
    than iphone mode?

I don't have photobucket. I don't really want to get one as I will probably
never remember the password and I don't really post photos of things very
often unless it can be done from my iphone. Certain web forums
allow you to directly post photos from an iphone.
