    I may have it now

I took out some new loads, neck sized only and had some good results.
9/16" groups @ 100yds with Sierra 140gr BTSP Gamekings, over 35.5gr of Varget. I've had great success with the Varget in a 7.62x54R Mosin with a .308 bore, and the results were almost duplicated here with the 6.5 Swede. I had also loaded some 140gr Remington Core-lokts, but had marginal groups at best. The Sierras seemed to do the trick. I was a bit surprised at that, because with the long amount of free-bore in this gun, I thought that the Remingtons, seated further out, would be the more accurate round.

I have some 160gr Hornady RN coming in this week, I'll try them as well, but the 140 Sierras are giving me what I want for now.

Yea Russ, just as I mentioned earlier, the 139/140's is where the caliber comes into it's element. The Remmy Core-Locks not grouping too well is not a surprise to me.

MH, the long freebore should (I hope) give you adequate room for those long dong 160's. Keep us updated.
